The Museum of Florida Art recently held an online auction through their website. This is an innovative way to solicit funding. I'm surprised more museums and nonprofits don't take advantage of online giving.
" 'A Taste of Florida and More!'...exceeded our expectations," said Jennifer Coolidge, Executive Director of the Museum of Florida Art. "With additional planning and promotion the on-line portion of the auction could be more successful...but for us in the first year, it served to advertise the event, drive traffic to the website and jump start bidding at the event where all items culminated and were sold."
According to Coolidge, the online auction was conceived by Pat Sutherland, President of Meeting Matters Plus.
